From 11 to 25 October 2025, Verona will host the second edition of the Undiscovered Music Festival, a concert series devoted to 20th-century instrumental music and its connections with earlier repertoires. Curated by Mattia Marsala and organized by Harmony Hub, the Festival features free-admission performances in some of the city’s most fascinating churches, with the participation of leading ensembles and soloists. The initiative is held under the patronage of the Holy See for the 2025 Jubilee.
On 8 October 2025, the Palácio Nacional de Mafra will host a concert dedicated to the Stabat Mater by Domenico Scarlatti and José de Nebra, a repertoire that allows us to rediscover sacred music from the Bourbon era and the cultural ties between Spain, Italy and Portugal. Performed by La Grande Chapelle conducted by Albert Recasens, the event is part of the Via Scarlatti project promoted by CEEH and CEM, Centre Européen de Musique, with media partnership by VCR.
From August 14 to October 25, 2025, the fourth edition of the Musica Mirabilis Festival in Clusone (BG) pays tribute to Giovanni Legrenzi, a central figure of seventeenth-century European music. Conceived and directed by Giovanni Acciai and Ivana Valotti, the Festival features eight concerts and hosts the first 'Giovanni Legrenzi' International Competition, open to singers and instrumental ensembles under 35 from across Europe. VCR Venice Classic Radio is proud to be the official radio partner of the initiative.
From July 15 to September 15, 2025, the 43rd edition of the Portogruaro International Music Festival will take place. The theme Modulazioni. Il continuum della musica shapes a wide-ranging and interdisciplinary program featuring world-renowned artists, intersections with jazz, opera, electronic music, and crossover projects.
From 9 October 2025 to 7 May 2026, the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto celebrates 60 years of activity with an exceptional concert season, curated by artistic and music director Marco Angius: 14 events ranging from classical and romantic repertoire to world premieres, featuring international artists such as Silvia Careddu, Ilya Gringolts, Fazil Say, Arsenii Moon, Anna Kravtchenko, Maya Oganyan, Maurizio Baglini, Giovanni Andrea Zanon, Fabio Biondi and many others.
A previously unperformed opera by Antonio Smareglia, a tribute to major opera figures, and a series of events dedicated to the renowned librettist Luigi Illica: from 9 to 12 July 2025, Castell’Arquato (PC) will become a charming open-air stage for the twelfth edition of the Festival Illica, under the artistic direction of Jacopo Brusa.
