The Undiscovered Music Festival enters its second edition with a fresh proposal that bridges past and future, bringing to Verona a concert series that intertwines 20th-century instrumental music with earlier works. A game of echoes, contrasts and rediscoveries, enhanced by the quality of the performers and the beauty of the venues.
Under the artistic direction of Mattia Marsala and the organization of Harmony Hub, the Festival also aims to engage younger audiences by offering compelling and free listening experiences. Featured artists include the Novae Cordae Ensemble with rarely performed works by Pēteris Vasks and Mieczysław Weinberg, flutist Lorenzo D'Antò, principal flute of the Verona Arena Orchestra, and the Veronese organist Michele Fontana.
The venues selected for the concerts are places of exceptional charm and spiritual resonance: the Festival opens on 11 October in the magnificent Church of San Giorgio in Braida, continues on 16 October at the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, and concludes on 25 October in the scenic Church of Santa Maria Antica, nestled among the Gothic splendor of the Arche Scaligere. A summer preview was held in July at the Basilica of Sant’Anastasia, highlighting the Festival's deep connection with the symbolic landmarks of the city.
The Festival is presented under the patronage of the Holy See as part of the 2025 Jubilee. A project that unites cultural commitment, heritage appreciation, and a forward-looking perspective.
