In the Venice of the early eighteenth century, where music permeated every street and the Ospedale della Pietà shaped generations of exceptionally trained young musicians, comes to life 'Primavera', the new film by acclaimed opera and theatre director Damiano Michieletto. Inspired by the Strega Prize-winning novel Stabat Mater by Tiziano Scarpa, the film is a powerful and visually arresting portrait of a young woman navigating talent, identity, and freedom. 'Primavera' will be released internationally after already securing distribution in more than twenty-five countries.

A new international music competition dedicated to young talents in piano, voice and musical creation is born in Arcore, near Milan: the Agnesi International Music Competition, named after Maria Teresa Agnesi, an extraordinary female figure of the Italian eighteenth century, a composer and intellectual of remarkable modernity.

Until December 5, the city of Trento hosts the 39th edition of Trento Musicantica, the international Festival dedicated to early music, promoted by the Centro Servizi Culturali Santa Chiara and the Laurence K.J. From 11 to 25 October 2025, Verona will host the second edition of the Undiscovered Music Festival, a concert series devoted to 20th-century instrumental music and its connections with earlier repertoires. Curated by Mattia Marsala and organized by Harmony Hub, the Festival features free-admission performances in some of the city’s most fascinating churches, with the participation of leading ensembles and soloists. The initiative is held under the patronage of the Holy See for the 2025 Jubilee.

In 2025, the association Barocco Europeo celebrates its first 25 years of activity with the new edition of the Festival toBE 2025, an articulated programme of concerts, special projects and educational initiatives spanning Friuli Venezia Giulia, eastern Veneto and Slovenia. From August 14 to October 25, 2025, the fourth edition of the Musica Mirabilis Festival in Clusone (BG) pays tribute to Giovanni Legrenzi, a central figure of seventeenth-century European music. Conceived and directed by Giovanni Acciai and Ivana Valotti, the Festival features eight concerts and hosts the first 'Giovanni Legrenzi' International Competition, open to singers and instrumental ensembles under 35 from across Europe. VCR Venice Classic Radio is proud to be the official radio partner of the initiative.
